QAPA is the New England organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning people of Asian and Pacific Islander heritage in the Boston and New England area. We host a monthly discussion series called QAPA Speaks Out. This month's Speak Out will have a special guest, Patrick Cheng, the noted theologist. This special QAPA Speaks Out will be open to all, including allies of all races, genders and sexual orientations.

Patrick Cheng is a seminary professor, theologian, attorney, and ordained minister. He is also an out gay Chinese American man, a Bostonian, and a member of QAPA. Who better to help us talk about religion(s), spirituality(s) and queerness!
This special QAPA Speaks Out will be open to all, including allies of all races, genders and sexual orientations.But as always with our Speak Out series, we'll be confronting some potentially hard topics, so we'll need you to keep an open mind! We’re delighted to host Mykal Slack, a trans-identified minister who works to create safe spaces for LGBTQ folks in and outside the church. He works for economic justice, equal treatment in the workplace and ending spiritual violence. He is developing a ministry called 4LYFE Ministries, which is a collective of theologians, vocalists, preachers, teachers and other activists who are working to end spiritual violence inflicted upon LGBTQ folks of all faith backgrounds.
Join us for a discussion about how to make Humanist communities most inclusive for our LGBTQ friends. This event is free and open to the public.
