The 2nd Massachusetts Trans Faith Action Week will be the week of Monday April 8th!
It looks to be much like the 1st one (April 2011; the Trans Equal Rights Law passed that November) – MA faith communities commit to one or more actions for trans equality and are publicly recognized (optional); the focus will be on supporting the Trans Equal Access Bill (public accommodations, filed in January). Actions include postcard parties (you sign MTPC’s pre-printed postcards, we deliver them to your legislators), hosting trans-themed services and other programming, phone banking (calling your legislators), committing to attend the next bill event at the Statehouse (lobby day, hearing, etc.), and signing the Declaration of Interfaith Support for the bill.
TFAW is very similar to Trans Awareness Week (every November; includes Trans Day of Remembrance).
